Abstract:
Recently, COVID-19 is still considered to be a common health issue around the world and the virus continues to mutate to a faster form. Recent studies have shown that vitamin D is of great importance in reducing the severity of COVID-19. Vitamin D can modulate immunity, suppress inflammation and intervene in the renin-angiotensin system. And low vitamin D level is associated with COVID-19 severity and mortality. However, current clinical studies have not yet identified the optimal dose of vitamin D for the prevention of severe COVID-19; a lot of basic and clinical trials are needed to explore the optimal dose for severe COVID-19 prevention.
